Dugo smo razmišljali o adekvatnom obeležavanju stotog Improstora, ali budući da smo gotovo celokupan program realizovali bez finansijske podrške nadležnih institucija, odlučili smo da umesto Improstora #100, iznesemo javno naš stav, jer ni u godini kada Novi Sad postaje kandidat Evropske prestonice kulture, gradska uprava, kao i druge nadležne institucije, ni ovog puta ne prepoznaju naš značaj u kulturnom životu grada.
Svedoci smo kontinuirane prakse gušenja rada nezavisnih aktera kulturne scene, koje se ogleda u širokoj lepezi odsustava: adekvatne kulturne politike, finansijske podrške, prostora, itd. Reon kulture obitava kao poligon na kome se istrčavaju i uvežbavaju budući politikantski poslušnici vladajućih struktura, bez izuzetka. Kultura, u takvom okruženju i tako negovana, gubi na svojoj političkoj osvešćenosti, aktuelnosti i otupljuje kao potencionalni kritičar, učesnik ili pokretač društvenih promena.
Opstaje samo kao degenerisana slika nekog pređašnjeg sopstva, uštirkana i uštogljena, lišena svesti o tome da je ikada imala drugu svrhu, i drugačije obličje od, danas joj nametnute, političke impotentnosti što miriše na prašak ili omekšivač namenjen različitim vidovima pranja.
Iskoristili bismo ovu priliku da se zahvalimo prostorima koji su nam otvorili svoja vrata, kako bi realizovali koncertne i radioničarske sadržaje.

Takođe, voleli bi da se zahvalimo i brojnim pojedincima i formalnim i neformalnim grupama koje su nam na ovaj ili onaj način pomagali da realizujemo koncerte, uspostavimo kontakt ili organizujemo neophodnu opremu. Lista prijatelja, bićemo slobodni da ih tako nazovemo budući da smo delili entuzijazam, je poduga, pa nećemo nabrajati, što nikako ne umanjuje našu zahvalnost njima.
Naposletku, veliko hvala izvođačima koji su nastupali u okviru Improstora, kao i Vama, publici, koja je te koncerte ispratila.
Bila nam je izuzetna čast da do sada budemo domaćini velikom broju domaćih i stranih izvođača, kao i da posvedočimo produbljivanju interesovanja kako publike tako i mladih izvođača koji su se posvetili improvizovanoj muzici.
Samim tim ovo je jednako Vaš i naš jubilej, budući da smo taj put zajedno prešli.

We’ve been thinking long and hard, trying to come up with an adequate way to commemorate the 100th Improstor. However, since we had to organize almost the entire run of the program without financial support of the relevant institutions, we’ve reached the decision to, instead of organizing the 100th performance, publicly state our position on the matter, because, even though this year The City of Novi Sad is a candidate for the European Capital of Culture, the City Government, as well as other relevant institutions, failed to recognize our event as a meaningful part of this city’s cultural scene.
We are witnessing continuous stifling and ignoring of independent members of the culture, manifested in a complete deprivation of: adequate cultural policy, financial support, availability of venues etc. The field of culture has become a track & field where cronies of the structures currently in power exercise and practice running for their political careers, without exception. Culture, when treated and abused like this, loses its power to raise political awareness, becomes restrained and silenced as a potential critic, participant or instigator of social changes.
The only thing that exists in this cultural dictatorship and monopoly is a transmogrified, degenerated image of what culture used to be, now stuffy and lifeless. This mutilated creature has no idea that it used to have an actual purpose and a different form than this impotent version that spreads the smell of bleach, and other laundering agents.
We would like to use this opportunity to express our gratitude to the venues and organizations which made our concert and workshop events possible by opening their doors to us:
Café bookstore NuBlu, Youth Center CK13, Club Izba, Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina, Vojvodina Institute for Culture, Rajko Mamuzić Gallery, Škripa Pub, Radio Café, La Kavana, Materra, Cultural Center Utopia, Cultural Center Dom B-612, Planetarium, Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Reformed Christian Church and Cultural Center LAB.
We would also like to thank all those individuals and formal and non-formal groups who helped us organize concerts, establish contacts or secure the necessary equipment. The list of these friends who shared our enthusiasm, is too long to name everyone individually. However, our gratitude to them is tremendous, nonetheless.
And finally, a huge thank you to the artists who performed in Improstor events, as well as to you, the audience, who attended and supported these concerts.
It has been a great honor to bring to you a large number of performers from our country and abroad, and it was an exquisite experience witnessing the expanding of horizons of the audience and the young performers who dedicated themselves to improvised music.
And because we enjoyed this beautiful experience together, this jubilee is yours, just as much as ours.
